sight is our only defence.
life is a river that flows through your cells. a pulse is a wave that passes through you. the sun burns it off the mountains and trees, & blood falls like water. splitting everything in it’s way & watering every tugging heart’s gravity until it dissolves into the ocean sway.
there's no stopping the movement- the inevitable revolution. like clockwork, around the sun & through the body. around a blob of 12 nucleons & through the heart. like a knife through matter. our only defence is sight.
the body can only course correct. it’s free-fall all the way. words slip off my tongue & crash onto my teeth before i can mean. i’m sorry if i was mean.
just stay with me & we'll work it out.
there's nothing our ancestors haven't seen before. & even they used to dance. & we still have the alcohol. whatever happens, we'll see.
the light of the sun burns in our bloods and everything will be truth soon. we'll see. (active voice).
from optic nerve to bone, we’ll draw blood in a straight line. & khyati said, “the information never leaves us.” & that's all. we saw that. we saw it all, brushed under the rug. & we can't put it away. it’s in our dance & in our clothes. & they can't look away either.
& we’ll all see. the giant dominos of the universe will fall and we will all be paralysed in our wonder, unable to look away. the lightness of our breath is the burning of our blood.
& the light will carry us all.
